  • All major courses must be taken for a letter grade. Students can take gen eds CR/NC if they follow University guidelines.

  • Courses may be repeated only once; students must petition to retake a class a third time.

  • A passing grade for this major is a C or better in all major classes.

  • Students must complete a total of 32 credit hours of ABET Science and Math credits

  • Students must complete a total of 48 credit hours of ABET Engineering credits

MSE 5050 or MET E 5800 courses are special topics and will vary each semester. Students may take multiple sections of MSE 5050 or MET E 5800 to fulfill the tech elective requirement, so long as the same topic is not repeated.

Students may also consider 5000-level (2-3 credits) courses offered in other Engineering or Science departments related to the study of Materials Science and Engineering.
