Core Courses

Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:

Section 1

Earn at least 2 credits from the following:

Complete ALL of the following Courses:

AND

Music Theory Elective

If students use MUSC 1100 or MUSC 1460 for their Music Theory Elective, they must complete it before MUSC 1110.

Complete at least 1 of the following Courses:

AND

Music History Elective

Complete at least 1 of the following Courses:

Keyboard

Complete ALL of the following Courses:

Placement is determined by faculty.
Fourth semester proficiency is required.

General Education Credit

Complete ALL of the following Courses:

Performance Studies: Private Lessons and Ensembles

Complete at least 12 semesters total from the following:

4-8 semesters of Private Lessons
4-8 semesters of Large Conducted Ensemble
0-2 semesters of Chamber Ensemble
Speak with your advisor about which courses are appropriate for you.

Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:

Private Lessons

Complete 4-8 semesters.
Speak with your academic advisor about which courses are appropriate for you.

AND

Large Conducted Ensemble

Complete 4-8 Semester(s):

Students whose instrument is Piano may complete up to 4 semester of course.
Students whose instrument is Guitar may complete up to 4 semesters of course.
Students whose instruments are Jazz Guitar, Bass, Drum, and/or Piano may complete up to 4 semesters of course.

Complete at least 4 of the following Courses:

AND

Chamber Ensemble

Students can take 0-2 semesters of a Chamber Ensemble as part of the 12 semesters of performance studies.

Enroll in the following Courses:

Jazz students may take up to 4 semesters of 4475 and thereby fulfill up to 2 semesters of the Large Conducted Ensemble requirement.
Piano students may take up to 4 semesters of 4499 and thereby fulfill up to 2 semesters of the Large Conducted Ensemble requirement.

Additional Music Theory or Music History Elective

Must be different from the courses take to fulfill the Music History Elective and the Music Theory Elective.
