Program Graduation Requirements

Students should meet with their advisor at the beginning of each semester to plan their Program of Study. The following are requirements for all students.

  • Comprehensive Exam

  • Form Supervisory Committee

  • Graduate-level non-research courses

  • Research courses

  • Additional graduate-level courses

  • Program of Study Approval

  • Thesis Defense or Final Examination (non-thesis option)

Note: To pass a course for credit toward a Master’s in Physics requires a grade of "B-" or better. In addition, to receive graduate credit, the course number must be 5000 or above.

Simple Requirements

Earn at least 20 credits

Approved courses with supervisory committee.

Earn at least 4 credits

Approved courses with supervisory committee.

Fulfill ANY of the following requirements:
Earn at least 6 credits from the following:
