Program Graduation Requirements

Consistent with UUSOM policy and the UUSOM Student Handbook, the official medical student transcript is a pass/fail/incomplete record maintained by the University of Utah’s Registrar Office. For the purposes of the Graduate Certificate of Population Health Sciences Certificate, “Pass” is equivalent to a letter grade of “B” or higher:

  • Passing (at least 70%) on all quizzes

  • Passing grade on all writing assignments, which must demonstrate the following – thoughtfulness, understanding, completeness, and relevancy.

  • Participation in a Community Engagement Experience. This includes attending and completion of all relevant coursework and activities centered in the community.

  • Completion of a Population Health Capstone project and presentation of the project to peers. This project will also be graded and assessed by the population health science graduate certificate director

Certificate Type

Embedded

Embedded certificates are conferred concurrently with a degree.
Stand Alone certificates are conferred to a student who is not seeking a degree.
