Program Description
The TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certificate prepares students to teach English to learners in the United States or abroad. The TESOL Certificate is a basic level program. This certificate may be in conjunction with another degree program or as a stand-alone program. It also may be taken as part of an undergraduate degree in Linguistics.
Program Admissions Requirements
After being admitted to the University of Utah, students must fill out an TESOL application form with the TESOL Certificate advisor.
Non-native English speakers must have a minimum TOEFL score of 80 iBT or better, or a minimum IELTS band score of 6.5 or better.
