Program Description
Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) Post-Graduate Certificate Program
The Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) Post-Graduate Certificate Program prepares advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) to deliver comprehensive, gender-informed care to individuals across the lifespan with a focus on reproductive, gynecologic, and primary care needs. The program emphasizes evidence-based clinical management of sexual and reproductive health, prenatal and postpartum care, menopause, and common conditions affecting women and gender-diverse individuals.
Grounded in a holistic and person-centered approach, the curriculum supports the development of advanced clinical skills, advocacy for equitable care, and interprofessional collaboration in a variety of outpatient and community-based settings. Graduates are eligible to sit for national certification as a WHNP.
Eligibility:
Applicants must hold a graduate degree in nursing (MSN or DNP) and current national certification and licensure as an APRN (NP, CNS, CRNA, or CNM). This program is ideal for certified APRNs in other specialties who wish to expand their scope of practice to include women’s and reproductive health care.
