Program Description
The bachelor’s degree program in Artificial Intelligence (AI) prepares students for employment in a wide range of positions both in developing new AI systems and in the growing number of application domains. Coursework begins with the foundations of computer science and mathematics, then builds toward core AI areas such as machine learning, data analysis, natural language processing, computer vision, and robotics. The program emphasizes both the foundational aspects of modern AI and the hands-on skills needed to build and deploy AI systems responsibly. Students also study the societal, ethical, as well as philosophical implications of AI.
Program Admissions Requirements
Admission to the Artificial Intelligence major will require students to have completed MATH 1310 along with the introductory programming sequence of CS 1400, CS 1410 (or alternatively CS 1420, an accelerated version of CS 1400 and CS 1410 taught in one semester) and CS 2420.
A grade of C- or higher is required in each of these classes, except for Math 1310 which requires a C or higher and CS 2420 which requires a B- or higher.
